Des Moines offers a good variety of excellent golf courses, as well as golf homes in and around each of them. For those who want to live in an exclusive community with amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, a clubhouse, and of course, GOLF, will find the perfect home at one of the golf and country club neighborhoods.
Copper Creek Golf Club in nearby Pleasant Hill, Iowa offers new homes by Hubble Homes; ranging from the mid $200k's to the mid $300k's. The 18-hole course was designed by Gordon Cunningham and designed around large trees and scenic hills. This club is strictly for golf enthusiasts, offering a clubhouse, pro shop, and bar lounge for members.
The Briarwood Golf Club of Ankeny is an 18 hole championship style course with a new swimming complex, pro shop, bar, and restaurant.
The Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines is a Tom Fazio course, rated #1 in Iowa by Golf Digest and 2004 Best 18 Hole Iowa Course by the Iowa Golf Association. Glen Oaks offers a beautiful country club with pool, tennis facilities, fitness facilities, and more.
The Legacy Club is located south of the city, near downtown Des Moines and West Des Moines. It's a Par 72 course that opened in 2002 and offers a clubhouse that emphasized fine dining - offering breakfast, lunch, and a large banquet room that is available for groups and buffet dining occasions.
The Des Moines Golf and Country Club is centered around a pair of Pete Dye championship courses and offers one of the only full service country clubs in Iowa. They have an olympic sized pool, swimming and diving lessons, 12 tennis courts, and junior programs for golf, swimming and tennis is emphasized. This upscale community is excellent for families with children to indulge.
